Test Site: The Victorians and Ancient Egyptian Mummies

British publics in the 'Victorian Period,' (dates)  were fascinated by ancient Egyptian mummies. This project explores the way that they consumed ancient Egyptian mummified human remains (called 'mummies') in myriad ways: through collecting, the use of mummy as an ingredient in various medicines and paints, as well as mummy unwrappings as spectacles.
